Skinny fat is a term used to describe someone who appears thin on the
outside, but they have an imbalance in their fat to muscle ratio.
A person who has an imbalance in body composition will have a higher fat to muscle ratio despite their outward appearance, these people are referred to as skinny fat or TOFI (thin on the outside, fat on the inside) They are metabolically obese, despite having a normal weight range for their height.
