Indian farmers protests against farm laws

A rally by tens of thousands of Indian farmers have turned violent as police charged at protesters as they broke barricades in the city.

The clashes took place as farmers held a “tractor day” to coincide with India's 73rd Republic Day celebrations. The farmers are demanding the repeal of three farm laws passed by prime minister Narendra Modi's government last year.

So does small farmers still have a future in India?
