Despite needing a last-minute winner in order to secure a point in their tie against Mamelodi Sundowns, Swallows FC still impressed PSL fans nationwide with their efforts in the DStv Premiership clash. The Soweto side’s unbeaten run in league competition now stretches back to March of 2020 (when they were still competing in the GladAfrica Championship) and the side remain level on 27 points with both Masandawana and SuperSport United. Musa Nyatama’s 97th minute equalizer kept Swallows in the hunt for league glory.
In the latest episode of The SL Podcast’s “The Fan Reaction Show”, PSL supporters were full of praise for swallows FC despite pointing out that they were lucky to escape with a share of the spoils. "Swallows proved that they aren't here to play", pointed out one Sundowns fan. Another supporter added "They were lucky but they earned the draw."
