South Africa has now surpassed one million cases of COVID-19 with 9000 new cases reported yesterday. The health department reported 214 COVID-19 related deaths with a whopping 123 deaths in the Eastern Cape alone. We know that President Ramaphosa is expected to meet with the national command council this weekend, which more restrictions could be on the cards.
