It's almost four years since we last spoke to Mitchells Plain born Masnoena Adams who left the country for Yemen about 19 years with her late Yemeni husband Saleh, where she's been ever since. Trapped in a remote part of Yemen against her will by her husband and abused mentally and physically, for a long time Masnoena was unable to make contact with her family in Mitchells Plain. Her parents Yusuf and Fatima Adams had pleaded with authorities for years to assist in her return back home, but sadly, it amounted to nothing. It's like something out of a movie.
Things took a major turn in December 2016 when Saleh was brutally gunned down. Masnoena has certainly had to bear immense trials and tribulations. VOC News editor Tasneem Adams decided to catch up with her and hear what's happened since they last spoke in 2016
