On the Covid report today we focus on the impact of the coronavirus on people living with disabilities. Persons living with disabilities have more healthcare needs linked to impairments and are most vulnerable to the impact of low quality or inaccessible healthcare. Siphosihle Mbuli speaks to Ntshavheni Netshituni from BlindSA about the impact of the Coronavirus on partially sighted and blind people who depend on touching surfaces for perform their task. Netshituni says government has directed focus and resources to dealing with the coronavirus pandemic. We also spoke to students from the University of Pretoria living with disabilities, Princess Sibanda who is studying towards a BA Psychology degree and Wilson Macharia from Kenya who is doing his Masters in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa who say they have had to depend on the help of their families and support from the university to survive the pandemic.
