Rodney Trudgeon’s guest on this week’s edition of People of Note is the award winning author MANU HERBSTEIN who first novel, “Ama, A Story of the Atlantic Slave Trade” won the 2002 Commonwealth Writer’s Prize for the best first book. Manu is also the winner of the 2018 African Writer’s Award for Children’s Literature. Manu was born near cape Town in 1936 but left South Africa in 1959 and worked as a civil engineer in Ghana. The music he has selected for the programme will reflect his love of Ghana and it’s musicians.
