Thank you for listening to the TechCentral podcast. In this episode, Duncan McLeod interviews Colin Fleming, head of retail at Zapper, the mobile payments specialist.
Fleming talks about his career in technology retail, including his career at Massmart and what brought him to Durban-based Zapper.
He talks about how Zapper has grown in South Africa, what the application is used for and the areas he sees for expansion, including in national retail and e-commerce.
Zapper plans to work with other payment providers, including Mastercard’s Masterpass and Standard Bank’s SnapScan, and Fleming explains why it makes sense to cooperate with these companies in interoperability.
He also talks about his chance (and very funny) encounter, in Canada, with celebrated science-fiction writer and technology Cory Doctorow.
It’s a great podcast. Don’t miss it.
