A briefing and walkabout were held today at the soon-to-be-renovated Operation Siyahlola Shelter for Victims of GBV, following a call from the National Minister of Social Development to prioritize support for women affected by gender-based violence.
The initiative aims to provide safe spaces for women, enabling them to succeed in education, engage in the economy, and live safely. The presentation took place at Nhlavuziyasha Hall in Ulundi. This shelter, the first of its kind in the Zululand District, will accommodate up to eight women victims of GBV at a time.
