Episode 2: Labour Broker Series
Loading player...
This is part two of a four-part series produced by the Casual Workers Advice Office on labour broker workers’ rights. In the previous episode we looked at who labour broker workers are, their rights at work and the problems they face.
In this episode, we discuss how bosses have evaded the legal requirement in existence since 2015 to appoint labour broker workers permanently after three months in the company. We will also look at the 2018 Constitutional Court decision which clearly stated that temporary employment services should be genuinely temporary, and that temporary workers placed by labour brokers at a company are automatically deemed permanent after three months of service.
