More than 70 people have lost their lives and dozens more were injured after a fire broke out at a five-storey building in Marshalltown, downtown Johannesburg, on Thursday morning. The death toll is the highest for a building fire in the city's recent history. According to Johannesburg emergency services, the blaze gutted the building at the corner of Albert and Delvers streets at around 01:30 on Thursday.
