Episode 49 Mark & Dr LaTasha Blanton #WisdomPersonified

I hope this conversation with The Blantons, Mark and Dr LaTasha, has a butterfly effect: a light fluttering of butterfly wings that may cause unpredictable, but positive inspirations and actions in those that watch and hear which can lead to a large-scale movement of Africans and people of African descent in the Diaspora appreciating their common
ancestry and actively seeking to bridge the bonds of time and space. To be the powerful people that they are.

There is an excerpt of a poem from the book Wealth for all Africans: How Every African Can Live the Life of Their Dreams that says:

“Most people write me off when they see me.
They do not know my story.
They say I am just an African.
They judge me before they get to know me.

Mark and LaTasha Blanton are part of a new generation of Africans and Africans from the diaspora who are changing the narrative of how they are seen and the choices that they make in their lives. Writing their own narrative. Mark and LaTasha’s mission is to expose and showcase South Africa as a luxury travel destination, but also a potential home to African Americans which warms my heart to no end. They are the founders of The Real South Africa Tour Company.
Our conversation covered topics ranging from understanding what a ‘Karen’ is and whether they have met ‘her’ in South Africa, about serving in the US military as anAfrican- American and their view of entrepreneurship in South Africa, amongst others.
I hope you find our conversation reflective. The future for Africans and Africans from the diaspora is what they make it and I wish for this conversation to contribute to the writing of a more prosperous and united future for the pride and benefit of the upcoming generations.
