The Kunene Elephant Walk is a non-profit organization that aims to help conserve the unique population of desert-adapted elephants through research, monitoring, raising awareness about both the ecological and economic importance of Namibia’s rare desert-adapted elephants and threats to their survival on a local, national and international level, and raising funds for conflict prevention projects. The walk started on Tuesday and ends on Sunday. John Kasaona, Director Integrated Rural Development and Nature Conservation IRDNC who is going to walk for 150 km in the Kunene Region speaks to In the Newsroom.
