The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Northern Cape Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NOCCI), Sharon Steyn, urges businesses in Central South Africa to make use of their local chambers and not just sit on the side-lines.
Steyn says it’s vital to be affiliated with business chambers, the voice of business, because it enables you to have access to a national network of small business, institutes and chambers.
Not forgetting having a direct line to government.
She stresses, however, that it is of no use if a business merely joins a chamber but does not participate: “It’s of no use if a business sits on the side-lines.”
Steyn tells the OFM Business Hour with Nedbank Agri-Business Banking that whilst it’s been a tough time for businesses in the Northern Cape, many entrepreneurs have shown fortitude and remind us that we need to focus on the positive and not just harp on the negative, which include poor service delivery.
She believes that public and private collaboration can assist with delivering services to the people of the province again.
