SA huffath pass 1st round of Quran competition

Three South African students have passed preliminary tests and now begin their recitation of the Holy Quran in the King Abdul Aziz International Quran Memorisation Competition. Set in the magnificent Haram Al-Sharif in Makkah, the students will participate in three of the four categories. In the Full Quran category is Adeeb Harneker; 15 Juz category is Mogammed Bamjee and in the third category of five Juz is 11 year old Ihsaan Bassadien who is accompanied by his father. Speaking to VOC News from Makkah, Qari Salim Gabie said the three have already undergone intense preliminary tests which have excluded the weaker components from the competition. This competition is the first of its kind.
