While there is no international consensus on how , or why, vaccine passports should be used, several governments around the world are adopting the so called coronavirus passports in a bid to reopen borders and restore a semblance to social life.
But sceptics say they present insurmountable scientific, legal and ethical issues and should not be used either within individual countries or as a tool to unlock international travel.
