Surgeons perform mixed reality shoulder surgery

A team from UCT and Groote Schuur Hospital recently used a Microsft HoloLens2 to preform a mixed reality shoulder replacement surgery.

The surgery was part of a global 24- hour event in which surgeons from 13 countries collaborated on 13 orthopedic surgeries using holographic imagery.

We now chat to head of the Division of Orthopaedics at the University of Cape Town (UCT) Professor Stephen Roche.
